Windbeam was the name given to the great horn of Elendil.
History
Windbeam was used at the Battle of the Black Gate, but this is told of only in Tolkien's second or third draft of the chapter of The Return of the King, "Mount Doom". In this account, Frodo hears it as he is climbing with Sam up the mountain towards the Sammath Naur. Windbeam does not appear in the final version of the third book.[1]
Other writings
In Letters From Father Christmas the horn was used by Father Christmas, who had not to blow it for over four hundred years.
