Vairë was an Elf of Tol Eressëa and one of the keepers of the Cottage of Lost Play.
Biography[]
Vairë was the daughter of Tulkastor, one of the earliest dwellers of Tol Eressëa. She married Lindo, and lived in the Cottage with her husband where they both entertained many visitors, including the hosting of the Man Ælfwine (Eriol) who visited there during his travels. She was very wise in many things, and talked with Ælfwine, explaining to him things about the household.[1]
Etymology[]
Vairë was a Quenya word that meant 'weaver'.[2]
