[edit] Biography
Born in TA 2855, Turgon was the son of Túrin II.
Túrin II died in TA 2914 and Turgon succeeded to the Stewardship of Gondor. Turgon's rule was largely peaceful, however, two years after the end of Turgon's stewardship was the re-emergence of Sauron. In TA 2951 Sauron began to move openly again, he re-occupied Mordor, rebuilding and re-fortifying Barad-dûr.
Turgon died in TA 2953 at the age of ninety-eight years old after a rule of thirty-nine years and was succeeded by his son Ecthelion II. When news of Turgon's death reached Saruman. Saruman declared himself Lord of Isengard and took de facto possession of Orthanc which he then fortified.
