Thráin I

Thráin I (TA 1934 - TA 2190), sometimes called Thrain the Old was the son of Náin I and King of Durin’s Folk and the first King of Erebor.
When his father was slain by the Balrog as his grandfather Durin VI had been killed before, Thráin I fled Khazad-dûm together with the remainder of Durin's Folk during which he and succeeded his father as King of Durin's Folk. They migrated to Erebor, which he founded in TA 1999. He was succeeded as King by Thorin I.
