Thorondir
Biographical information
Physical description
Thorondir (r. TA 2872 - TA 2882) was the twenty-second Ruling Steward of Gondor.
[edit] Biography
Born in TA 2782 Thorondir was the son of Belecthor II.
During the latter parts of his father's reign, the White Tree began to die and when he died in TA 2872 so did the tree. Thorondir then succeeded him as the twenty-second Ruling Steward. During his reign, he decided not to remove the remains of the White Tree instead leaving it standing in hope that the king would return someday. Nothing more is recorded about his reign but that it was probably a peaceful one.
Thorondir died in TA 2882 at the age of 100 after ten years of rule and was succeeded by his son Túrin II.
