The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest is a video game that was released on September 14, 2010. The game was first announced at E3 2009 and was first planned to be released in the of Fall 2009; however, it was delayed due to unknown reasons. The Wii version was developed by Headstrong Games, whereas the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable versions were all developed by TT Fusion.
The game is set not long after the events of The Lord of the Rings. Samwise Gamgee is the one who will re-tell the events in the Shire (which is the hub world) to his children, most importantly Frodo Gamgee. The game's protagonist is Aragorn and an optional player is Gandalf. During the gameplay parts in the Shire, the playable character is Frodo Gamgee, with the second, optional one being Elanor Gamgee, replacing Aragorn and Gandalf, respectively. The game is composed of sword-fighting, horse-mounted combats and travelling Middle-earth through the experience of Aragorn from all of the adventures with the Fellowship of the Ring and the battles. There are many levels such as "Flight to the Ford", "Rivendell", "Pelennor Fields" and more.

The existence of Aragorn's Quest was initially leaked by the Software Association Entertainment in their Electronic Entertainment Expo E3 list of debuting titles. The game was officially announced in a press release a week later, on May 28, 2009, and marks the first title in a new franchise after Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment obtained the license for the Lord of the Rings series from The Saul Zaentz Company and New Line Cinema after years of the series being licensed to Electronic Arts. The press release noted the game would be available for Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2 and PSP sometime in the fall 2009.
