Tarondor
Biographical information
Physical description
Tarondor (TA 1577 - TA 1798, r. TA 1636 - TA 1798) was the twenty-seventh King of Gondor. He should not be confused with his namesake Tarondor of Arnor.
Tarondor son of Minastan succeeded his uncle Telemnar, who died in the Great Plague of TA 1636, coming to the throne when he was still young because all his cousins died and was the longest-reigning King of Gondor.
War and plague had tortured his country and Tarondor strove to rebuild it and its power. The most significant event in his reign was the removal of the capital from Osgiliath to Minas Anor. He died in TA 1798 after one-hundred and Sixty-two years of rule was succeeded by his son Telumehtar in TA 1798 .
