I am not an expert on Elvish languages, but I think "Quenta Silmarillion" translates as "The story of the Silmarilli". The plural ending -ion suggests that the book's title The Silmarillion is nonsensical, as it means/translates as The Of-the-Silmarilli. A correct title would have been The Silmarilli. Not sure if this is right, but if so it is probably worth being included in the article. 126.96.36.199 09:10, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- I get where your coming from, but Quenta Silmarillion is just one section of the entire "The Silmarillion"--Quidon88 18:56, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Is there any official word from Peter Jackson that he'll make a Silmarillion movie? or a mini-series containing the story from The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales, and between a feature 3 hour long film about The Tale of The Children Of Húrin?
Oh, and, wat was the supposed importance of The Tale of The Children Of Húrin? becouse it appears on at least three books, The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales and obviously The Children Of Húrin. I want to know if anyboby does, if this tale was supposed to be the main story, instead of the Lord Of The Rings? I've only read the resumed chapter in the Silmarillion, it's a great story but there is one thing weird.
If Jackson does a Silmarillion film, I don't know how he will make it under 10 hours long.
After finishing reading The Silmarillion I was clarigied about how Tolkien imagined the creation of Eä and Arda, and how he was able to contain thousands of years into a 400+ (more then 300 in the Portuguese edition) page book. Genius! Ptsimpson 01:34, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
About 'Blind Guardian' Edit
Its nice that they are mentioned here. I got one suggestion: remove the 'power-metal'. The band started like that but changed a lot during theire existence. If someone reads 'power-metal' he might decide not to listen to it cause it sounds like its some cheap screaming and noise. While the term itself is only describtive, its misleading here. So, again, I suggest to remove the 'powermetal' and just call them 'the german band Blind Guardian'. Or even better, just say: 'the band Blind Guardian' as that album is neither in german language nor is it power metal.
