8th group of dwarves[]

Are the petty dwarves really their own group, arent they a mix of the other groups or most likely (stiffbeards, stonefoots and maybe longbeards) they did not have their own father. ~~Makrell~~

I don't know if this is the right place to put his, but which book states the seven names of the Dwarf families? I'm not denying it, but I'm just wondering. --General Quon 17:27, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Never Mind, I just got "The Peoples of Middle Earth" and I found it". --General Quon 19:44, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Really the Firstborn?[]

I know, technically, the Elves were first, but just because Eru denied them sapience, does that mean they were not the first? A generic example , and the first thing that comes to mind is this: From That 70's show, Michael Kelso states that his first date with Jackie Burkhardt was one in which he "got further" than on their actual first date. Sorry for the crudeness, but again, that was the first thing that came to mind. --Quidon88 00:42, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Are you refering to the fact that Eru talked to Aule about them before the Elves awoke? If that's the case, I get what you're saying? --General Quon 19:46, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Orocarni and the Red Mountains[]

I am curious, I just read the article on dwarves, and I am wondering if some could provide the citation to the text concerning the Orocarni and the Red Mountains, I do not recall them from my previous readings of History of Middle Earth? NJZimmermann 03:31, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

I wish I could help, but the history of the Dwarves is probably the only thing in Tolkien's world which I know little about.-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  11:35, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Ask me about the Eragon Dwarves, I can tell you a lot about THEM.Pikdude

its the dwarves that go swimming with little hairy women[]

lol i love this line but are the little hairy women hobbits or dwarves lol

one minor problem

it was a cave troll that stabbed Frodo, not a captain

In the movie, yes. I think that it was a captain. I THINK. I'm pretty much guessing Simon Strongbow (talk) 21:15, January 23, 2015 (UTC)

Who else thinks Dwarves are epic?[]

Ok, who else thinks Dwarves, are more superior to elves? Ruler of the coasters 11:11, October 29, 2011 (UTC)Kata89

Random Pictures[]

why are there so many pictures relating to the trading card game of the video game. people go on here to look for real Tolkien knowledge not trading card, or video games.

Translation[]

I will use "دوورف" as translate

because "أقزام" meaning midgets/little people which used also for lilliputians, elves, hobbits, leprechauns, goblins, pixies, sprites etc... even short humans

but "دوورف" used only for german gnomes and norse dvergars

it is less common but more accurate

Incorrect information[]

Hello!

I created an account to point out an error on this wikia-page (unfortunately I cannot edit it myself, but perhaps someone else can do that). Much of the information stated about the dwarves history under the headline "First Age" actually occured long before that, in The Years of the Trees (for example the waking of the Dwarves, the founding of Belegost, Nogrod and Khazad-Dûm, etc). It even specifically states "Three major holds are known to have been built in the First Age." which isn't compatible with the information on the respective pages of the three holds it mentions, where this is specifically said to have occured in YT and not FA.

Perhaps someone with access to editing pages can take a look at this? :)

  • It has been corrected; thanks for pointing that out. --Bitterhand (talk) 17:17, July 5, 2020 (UTC)
