In reference to the section stating: "perhaps specifically the Mediterranean (Mediterraneus is Latin for "Middle-earth")" This is not entirely correct because although Mediterraneus is Latin for Midland, the Mediterranean was called Mare Internum in Latin, which means "Internal Sea."
