- "Faithful servant yet master’s bane,
Lightfoot’s foal, swift Snowmane." - —Verse on Snowmane's Howe
Snowmane's Howe was a gave dug into the Pelennor Fields by the Rohirrim.[1]
History[]
After the Battle of the Pelennor Fields during the War of the Ring, the Rohirrim burned the Witch-king's winged steed before burying Snowmane, the horse of Théoden, in a howe. After which, they erected a stone upon it and engraved a verse into it written in Rohanese and Sindarin.[1]
For many years after, the grass that grew upon Snowmane's Howe was the most green and long of the Pelennor Fields.[1]
