The Siril was the chief river of Númenor.

It rose in springs from the Meneltarma and flowed southwards to find the sea in a sandy delta which formed the border between the provinces of Hyarrostar and Hyarnustar.[1]

The word Siril is Quenyan and means "rivulet". It came from the word sir, meaning 'river', though the origin of the second element il is unclear.[citation needed]
