Rood

From the One Wiki to Rule Them All, the Lord of the Rings Encyclopedia.

Rood was never mentioned in any of Tolkien's works. It does however feature in several role playing games as a location in the Eriador.

One must assume that the authors of those games have invented rood, just as there are several maps of Middle-earth in circulation that bear only a passing resemblance to the "official" maps by Tolkien.
