Durring Dagor Bragollach, Fingolfin rode Rochallor directly to the gates of Angband and challenged Morgoth to a duel. Rochallor stayed behind until Fingolfin died of his wounds. He was later assailed by the wolves of Angband and was able to escape due to his great swiftness. When Rochallor arrived in Hithlum, his heart broke and he died.
