At the time of the War of the Ring, Hirluin the Fair was either a lord of that region of Gondor or apparently a figure of authority there. As Pinnath Gelin was a loyal province of Gondor, Hirluin came with some 300 well-armed men marched to the aid of Minas Tirith during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Hirluin was killed by Orcs during the ensuing battle.
