Peredhil

From the One Wiki to Rule Them All, the Lord of the Rings Encyclopedia.

The Peredhil were the Half-Elven peoples of Middle-earth, a name primarily applied to Elrond and Elros, but also to Eärendil and Elwing. They were called so because of their extremely mixed Adan and Eldarin blood. At the end of the First Age, they were given a choice to be Elven and immortal, or to be of the race of Men and accept the Doom (or Gift) of Men.

Others who might also be considered Peredhil were Elrond's sons Elladan and Elrohir, and Elrond's daughter Arwen Undómiel. They, like the other Peredhil before them, were given the choice of mortality, which all three chose. The singular form is Peredhel.
