Ornendil was the elder son of King Eldacar of Gondor. In the siege of Osgiliath during the Gondorian civil war, also known as the Kin-strife, Omendil's father was driven out by Castamir the Usurper. Unfortunately, Ornendil did not escape with his father and was put to death by Castamir upon the fall of Osgiliath.
