Little is known of the Orc medicine that the Orc captain Uglúk smeared on Merry Brandybuck's wounded head while Merry and Peregrin Took were his captives. It is not known what the medicine consists of, but it is black in color and was kept by Uglúk in a small wooden box. The medicine seems to have been very effective, as it healed the gash on Merry's forehead, leaving him with only a brown scar.
