A drawing of the Old Grange by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Old Grange was a grain storehouse for Hobbiton and Bywater located on the road north of the Water, between Hill Lane and a hedge row.[1]

During the last days of the War of the Ring, the grange was destroyed by Saruman's men and replaced with a series of tarred sheds.[2]
