Nob was a Hobbit of Bree and a servant at The Prancing Pony.
History
Nob had been working for Barliman Butterbur at the inn for an unknown period of time in the late Third Age. When Frodo and his party arrived intending to stay the night, he attended to them and saw to their needs as with any other guest. Later when one of their company disappeared somewhere outside the inn, he was sent by Mr. Butterbur to go looking for him well outside the inn. When it became apparent that the inn was in danger, Nob helped with the disguises for their beds and kept watch during the night. He was still working at the inn when Frodo and company returned a year later to visit.
