Nessa is an Ainu, the least of the Queens of the Valar. The sister of Oromë, Nessa is lithe and swift of foot; she loves deer and dancing. Nessa is noted for her speed, able to outrun the deer who follow her in the wild. Nessa married Tulkas in Almaren, during the Spring of Arda.
Before the destruction of Almaren, she would often dance her dances on its great green grasses and later in Valimar on never-fading green lawns.
