Pass of Caradhras

The Fellowship passing Caradhras to get to Moria.

The Mountains of Moria are the three great mountains peaks of -- Celebdil, Caradhras and Fanuidhol -- in the Misty Mountains of Middle-earth.

HistoryEdit

They are all within a few dozen miles of each other and formed part of the Misty Mountains, beneath which Khazad-dûm was delved by the Dwarves. The main body of their city, which was later called Moria, seems to have been beneath Celebdil, which they called Zirakzigil, and which was crowned by Durin's Tower.[1]

ZirakZigilLOTRO

A small region of the mountains accessible in The Lord of the Rings Online, with the corpse of Durin's Bane visible.

During the Quest of the Ring, the Fellowship attempted to transverse the mountain's tallest; most perilous, and most unforgiving peak: Caradhras.
