The Middle-Earth Encyclopedia is an online encyclopedia founded by an unnamed fan at an unknown time dedicated to works of J.R.R. Tolkien. It is incomplete and is a works in progress site.

It is known for coining the term "Pete the Pirate" for the Corsair Lieutenant in the The Return of the King (film) played by Peter Jackson the director.
