Meneldor was a Great Eagle of the Misty Mountains.

He was a friend and follower of Gwaihir and probably dwelt with him on their eyrie in the Misty Mountains. He along with Gwaihir and Landroval was one of the Eagles who rescued Frodo and Sam from the slopes of Orodruin, after the destruction of the Ring.
