Lord of Beleriand was a title claimed by Elwë Thingol, the King of Doriath.

It was first proclaimed by him to the emissaries of the Ñoldor when they returned to Middle-earth and begun spreading throughout the northern lands, and lastly to the dwarves of the deep-smithies of Menegroth just before they slew him. ^[1]
