Letter 50 is the fiftieth letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Summary[]

Tolkien answered to his child that the poplars were then leafless (with the exception of one top splash), yet it was still a green and verdant late October. This time was when birches look most excellent, with snow-white skin and remaining leaves sparkling decrepit gold. He needed to rest at the Area H.Q. That Friday, yet was anticipating visiting C.S. Lewis and C.E.M. Joad another night.
