Letter 320 is the three hundred and twentieth letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Summary[]

Tolkien expressed his interest in Mrs. Ruth Austin's remark about comparing Galadriel to Christian and Catholic teaching and imagination about Mary. However, he pointed out that Galadriel was penitent; she led a rebellion against the Valar and refused for forgiveness. She was later pardoned when she resisted the temptation of the One Ring.[citation needed]
