Letter 21 is the twenty-first letter of The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.


Tolkien asked if Stanley Unwin's young son, Rayner Unwin, could take a look on a typed version of "A Long Expected Party", the first chapter of The Lord of the Rings (which was still unnamed at that time). Rayner was, Tolkien remarked, "a very reliable critic".
