Legolas's Mirkwood bow was a recurve bow that Legolas used before Lothlórien. When he joined the Fellowship of the Ring, Legolas took a long dagger for close combat and a curved, finely-made Bow of Mirkwood as his main weapon.

He used it against the Wolves who attacked the Fellowship in the mountain pass and against goblins in the Fight in Balin's Tomb but discarded it when he was gifted the Bow of Lothlorien from Lady Galadriel.
