Lake Mithrim
The area of Mithrim was home to a great lake, the Lake of Mithrim, which was the body of water north of Beleriand on the second year of the sun where the Ñoldor first dwelt in Middle-earth: the Sons of Fëanor on the northern shore and Fingolfin's host on the southern shore.
It was fed by three streams coming from the Ered Wethrin (Mountains of Shadow).
Etymology
Edit
The word Mith means Grey and rim means Folk so therefore it means Lake Grey-folk or perhaps Lake of the Grey-folk in Sindarin.
