Welcome to the Latin Characters project page. The purpose of this project is to help people find information that otherwise would be difficult to get to because the articles use irregular latin characters. These characters include:

  • Á á Â â Ä ä
  • É é Ê ê Ë ë
  • Í í Î î Ï ï
  • Ó ó Ô ô Ö ö
  • Ú ú Û û Ü ü

The only way that people could get to these article would be through links, but what could also be done is to have normal characters used to name articles that redirect to the properly named article. For example: Barad-dur would redirect to Barad-dûr

Wherever possible and wherever needed all articles should be named properly, if Tolkien used an irrlegular character then the article should be named so and all possible other names for that article should redirect to the properly named article.

All of this is to help people quick locate the pages they want without any trouble.

Also, when you create new articles, make sure you make redirects for such articles so we stop the flow of unredirected articles.
