LEGO The Hobbit: The Video Game is a video game that was released on April 8th 2014. It is available on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS, Vita, Mac, and PC. The game is set around the first two films of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy, An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug. Playable characters include Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey, alongside all of the dwarves: Thorin, Fíli, Kíli, Óin, Glóin, Dwalin, Balin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori, and Ori. Each dwarf has his own unique ability, including Bombur's ability to use his belly as a trampoline.
Locations visited include Bag End, Hobbiton, The Misty Mountains, Goblin-town, Mirkwood, Rivendell, Dol Guldur and Lake-Town.
Players are also "able to mine for gems, discover loot from enemies, and craft powerful magical items or build immense new LEGO structures," according to the game's press release.

- During the party at Bag End, the dwarves appear carrying a giraffe.
- When Thorin and Company arrive at the late farmer and his family's farm, they see not only the house destroyed but also the family's skeletons.
- The goblin that attacked Bilbo was with him during his encounter with Gollum which was to make the game co-op friendly.
- The dwarves became crushed by not only the Great Goblin's corpse after defeating him, but also a washing machine and a pig.
- When the Dwarves try to avoid the Goblins by heading to the daylight, Bombur carries the pig that crushed them.
The Desolation of Smaug
- A shark tried to eat the dwarf Bombur in barrel.
- Radagast was with Gandalf during their investigation at Dol Guldur, just to make the game co-op friendly.
- in the film, Bilbo nearly kicks Thror's key off the cliff as Thorin stops it with his boot. In the game, as Bilbo is about to open the hidden door, Thorin excitedly pushes Bilbo away and uses the key to open the door himself.
- Balin was with Bilbo during their search for the Arkenstone in the Lonely Mountain, just to make the game co-op friendly.
- Ori sticks his tongue out at Smaug.

- In the teaser trailer, Ori appeared to wear no cape.
- The Battle of the Five Armies was set to appear as a DLC pack, but it was canceled in March of 2015.
