The Keeper of the Dungeons was a Gundabad Orc who tortures and executes the prisoners of Azog and the Necromancer in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.

Biography[]

In The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in 2012, he appears in a flashback to the Battle of Azanulbizar during the War of the Dwarves and Orcs, fighting on the side of Azog. He fought against the Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain. After being defeated by Dwalin, the Orc brute survived his wounds and went into hiding in Mount Gundabad. Years later, in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies in 2014, he is summoned to Dol Guldur before the Battle of the Five Armies, but unlike his comrades, he stayed in the fortress and kept watch on Gandalf who had been imprisoned and defeated by Sauron. He received an order from Sauron to execute the wizardand confiscate the Ring of Fire (Extended Edition only), throwing Gandalf's cage across the tower before torturing him while pulling him out of his cage in Dol Guldur and attempting to cut off the Ring of Power from his finger. But before the Orc could cut the ring off and kill the wizard, Galadriel arrived at the old fortress and killed him.
