John Noble is an Australian actor/theatre director. John Noble is also credited as John Nogle, due to his name being misspelled in the ending credits of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Extended Edition.

He played the role of Denethor in the Lord of the Rings movies. He also auditioned for the part of Black heart in a Disney show called Pirate islands the lost treasure of Fiji and successfully got the part.

John stars in the hit show Fringe, which premiered in 2008. He plays an unstable scientist, Walter Bishop. John enjoys researching, on the internet, the scientific jargon in the scripts for Fringe.

[edit] Angry scenes

Temper

John had to use and release a lot of temper in his scenes. Especially when he had to pretend to be angry at David Wenham (Faramir). The more people that say his character is stupid or evil, the better he's done his job in The Return of the King. But, he was really happy in all the scenes done with Billy Boyd (Pippin) because he didn't have to shout or show a temper.

[edit] Character Bio

John's character Denethor doesn't really care about his younger son, Faramir, as much as his older son, Boromir. That is, until Faramir was brought back wounded, unconscious and dying after leading his men in a foolhardy and blatantly suicidal attempt to retake Osgiliath from the forces under Gothmog's leadership. However, Denethor tries to burn Faramir alive soon after.

[edit] Personal life

John is married. His wife's name is Penny, they have three children: Samantha, Jessica and Daniel. Samantha (Sam) (b. 1981) is an actress, something of which John mentions quite often in interviews- he is apparently very proud.

John currently resides in Australia.
