Illuin (Sky-blue) was one of the Two Lamps created by Aulë and the other Valar. Like its counterpart Ormal, it was cast down by Melkor before the awakening of the elves. It stood in northern Middle-earth and was housed upon the great pillar Helcar. After it was destroyed, the inland sea of Helcar was formed.
