The House of Olwë was a noble house of Telerin Elves.
History[]
Around YT 1150, Olwë led the most of his people to Aman.[1] They stayed upon Tol Eressëa and were later called the Falmari. Eventually, desiring to be closer to the light of Valinor, Olwë moved his people across the straight to found the city of Alqualondë on the shores of Aman. Olwë married an unnamed Elf, possibly of Telerin origin like himself, and had several sons and a daughter called Eärwen. Through Eärwen, the House of Olwë continued down to her sons Finrod (who founded his own house), Angrod, Aegnor, and Galadriel.[2] Through Angrod, his son Orodreth and Orodreth's children Finduilas and Gil-galad were members of this house. Galadriel's daughter Celebrían was also a member, and so were her children Elladan and Elrohir and Arwen.[3]
The house governed, at various times, Tol Eressëa and Alqualondë.
