Hildigrim Took was the great-grandfather of Peregrin Took and Meriadoc Brandybuck, as well as one of the many uncles of Bilbo Baggins.

Biography[]

Hildigrim Took was the fourth child of Gerontius "The Old" Took and Adamanta (Chubb) Took. Hildigrim had three older siblings: Isengrim III, Hildigard, and Isumbras IV; and eight younger siblings: Isembold, Hildifons, Isembard, Hildibrand, Belladonna, Donnamira, Mirabella, and Isengar. He was married to Rosa Baggins. His son, Adalgrim, was born when he was forty years old.[1] He was a very long-lived hobbit and died in TA 2941 (SR 1341) at 101 years of age.
