Hanstovánen was the mourning place of the ship Mornië, as recorded in the earlier forms of Tolkien's Mythology.

Hanstovánen was located on the shores of Haerast in northeastern Aman.[1][2]

HistoryEdit

Hanstovánen was where Mornië took sail into to the land of Avralin, east of the Pelóri[3] after the souls of Men were judged. It was also envisioned as the site of the Prophecy of Mandos.[4][2]

Etymology HistoryEdit

Hanstovánen was first written as 'Mornien' or 'Mornielta' and 'Vane' or 'Vone' 'Hansto'.[5]
