Halfling was one of the many terms used by men to describe Hobbits in the books.

About HalflingsEdit

There were well-known halflings such as Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin. The halflings (or hobbits) were excellent at throwing small objects such as rocks, but are not as good at close range as Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin were. The halflings were very good at climbing and all halflings' feet were immune to rough, rocky and wet terrain or environment. Halflings didn't have beards and are slightly shorter than the dwarvern race. Most halflings just love to eat and plant things. Pippin could be described as one of those, as in The Fellowship of the Ring, he asks Aragorn about second breakfast.

In adaptationsEdit

In Video GamesEdit

In the video game The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II the halflings are only playable units for the elf race only without casting a power.

In the MoviesEdit

In the movies The Fellowship of the Ring (film) and The Return of the King (film) you get to see some and most of the halflings in their home, the Shire.
