Húrin of Emyn Arnen was a nobleman of Gondor, the first known Steward to the King of Gondor, and an ancestor of the Ruling Stewards of Gondor.
Biography[]
Húrin of Emyn Arnen is the earliest of Gondor's Stewards to be recorded in history. He served under King Minardil, with great distinction. He was a man of noble Númenórean heritage, the originator of the House of Húrin whence came Minardil's heirs, by tradition, to select their own Stewards. He probably died in the Great Plague of 1636.[1][2]
Etymology[]
Húrin was a Sindarin name that meant "Steadfast".[3]
