Hírilorn, also known as Neldor, was an immense beech tree in Neldoreth in Doriath, next to Menegroth.

Hírilorn had three smooth and equally-sized trunks with no branches close to the ground. Between the three great trunks lay a small house where the king had Lúthien imprisoned to keep her from meeting with Beren. Beren died in Lùthien's arms under it.[1]

EtymologyEdit

The name Hírilorn consists of the Sindarin terms híril ("lady") and orn ("tree"), forming "Tree of the Lady".[2]
