- "There's knife-work here needs doing! Come on, you sea rats, get off your ships!"
- —Guritz, in the film Return of the King.
Guritz was an orc captain in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) who served Gothmog during the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
Potrayal in adaptations
Edit
Guritz had a large scar across his face that split his nose in two. He wore a helmet with a skull impaled on a spike, earning him the nickname Skully from the movie production crew, and the only weapon he was seen wielding was a two-handed scythe. He fled the charging Rohirrim and went with Murgash and a band of orcs to the docks to mock the late-arriving Corsairs aboard their ships. But the Corsairs were not on board; instead, Guritz and his company were met by Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and the first wave of the Army of the Dead. Guritz was killed when Gimli smashed his axe into the side of Guritz's face, breaking his neck.
Video games
Edit
He is also seen in The Lord of the Rings: Conquest video game as a warrior type Orc captain whom you must kill in many missions in the War of the Ring campaign.
