Guardians of Middle-earth is an upcoming action real-time strategy fantasy video game under development by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game is set in Middle-earth, and will feature several tie-ins to the original film trilogy. The game is set to be released somewhere in Fall 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The game will be exclusively available on Xbox LIVE Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

Gameplay

Guardians of Middle-earth will offer ten-player fights in an arena, with 5-on-5 multiplayer action. The player will be able to choose from several unique "guardians" from the Lord of the Rings trilogy, including Gandalf and Sauron, with the main objective being to destroy the enemy's base.
