The Greater Gelion was the larger of the two sources of the River Gelion in Beleriand.[1]

The Greater Gelion's origin was Mount Rerir and it ran southeast near Maglor's Gap until it joined the River Gelion about seventy-five miles from its source.[2]

The Greater Gelion was a Sindarin word.[3]
