Goldwine was the sixth King of Rohan.
Biography

Born in TA 2619 Goldwine was the son of Fréawine, he was born during the reign of his great-grandfather Aldor the Old. Goldwine was aged twenty-six, and already a father, when Aldor finally died in TA 2645. The crown passed to his grandfather Fréa. Fourteen years later in TA 2659, his father Fréawine became King of Rohan when he was forty. Goldwine ascended the throne of Rohan in TA 2680 at the age of sixty-one. By the time Goldwine came to the throne he was already a grandfather. Goldwine ruled during the "Golden Age" of Rohan and was very wealthy. During his rule the guard of Rohan's borders lessened, and the Dunlendings which Aldor had driven out began to slowly return to northern Rohan. Goldwine died in TA 2699 at the age of eighty, after a rule of nineteen years. He was succeeded by his son Déor.
