Gimli's Battle Axe was the weapon that he used throughout the series.

It is not seen with him before the Fellowship entered the Mines of Moria so it is most likely that he picked it up in The Chamber of Mazarbul.

Portrayal in adaptationsEdit

In Peter Jackson's film adaptions of the Lord of the Rings series, Gimli has many axes he uses in battle but his favorite by far is the double-bladed Battle Axe.  He uses it in nearly every fight, including the Fight in Balin's Tomb, the Skirmish at Amon Hen, the Battle of Helms Deep and the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.

It has a long, wooden shaft attached to two thick double-blades.
