Next to his Battle Axe the weapon Gimli uses most is his Walking Axe, he uses singly against the Warg Riders that ambush the Rohirrim villagers.

It is a long wooden handle with a single axe blade at the top, the straight metal shaft on the blade lets Gimli grasp it and use it as a walking staff.

This axe was also carried by Gimli's father, Gloin, during the Quest of the Lonely Mountain.
