Gilfanon was a Ñoldor Elf of Tol Eressëa.
Biography
Gilfanon was one of the oldest living Elves of Tol Eressëa.[3] He lived in the House of Hundred Chimneys in the town of Tavrobel. He knew the Elf Lindo and was present when he hosted the Man Eriol at the Cottage of Lost Play during his time on the island. Eriol and Gilfanon talked with one another in and then told him of the history of the Sun and Moon.[4][5]
He was also known for recounting a tale of the exile of Ñoldor and the coming of Men.[6]
Etymology
A previous name for this character was Ailios.[6]
