The First Siege of Imladris was an assault on Imladris (Rivendell) in mid-Second Age during the War of the Elves and Sauron.

Elrond fled with the other Elves of Eregion to the Valley on the North of the Misty Mountains. Sauron knew that Elrond took the survivors of Eregion there, but he wanted all Elves from Eregion dead, which is why he led an army of 100,000 Orcs and 10 Trolls there. During the middle of the battle Sauron escaped to help his armies at the Battle of the Gwathló. The battle ended when the Battle of Gwathlo ended.
