The game was later released for Microsoft Windows on August 29, 2013.

Gameplay[]

Guardians of Middle-earth will offer ten-player fights in an arena, with 5-on-5 multiplayer action. Players can fight as over 20 iconic guardians from Middle-earth including Gandalf and Sauron which each have unique abilities to use in combat. The main objective of the battles is to destroy the enemy's base. Expansion packs were launched periodically to coincide with the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, that included characters from the film such as Thorin Oakenshield and The Great Goblin.
